Lori Bennear, Stanback Dean of ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½â€™s Nicholas School of the Environment, has appointed a committee to lead the search for the next .

The new director will succeed Andrew Read, who will step down in July after completing two five-year terms.

The search committee will be chaired by Erika Weinthal, John O. Blackburn Distinguished Professor of Environmental Policy and chair of the Division of Environmental Social Systems at the Nicholas School.

• Dana Hunt, Associate Professor of Microbial Ecology, Nicholas School of the Environment
• James Hench, Associate Professor of Oceanography, Nicholas School of the Environment
• John Virdin, Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Division of Marine Science and Conservation, Nicholas School of the Environment; Director, Ocean Policy Program, Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability
• Clay Adams, Assistant Vice President, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Affairs
• Dhruv Rungta, undergraduate student
• Maddie Paris, Ph.D. student
• Dorry Kee, Board of Visitors, Nicholas School of the Environment

The dean has charged the committee with conducting a thorough search to identify a broad pool of candidates for the position. Executive search firm will support the committee.
