The National Science Foundation and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation have awarded a $1.2 million grant to support a new initiative aimed at boosting ecosystem restoration and climate resilience along North Carolina’s coast.

A new study by researchers at Penn State University, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½, and the University of Saskatchewan suggests not all of the nearly 2,000 species of ground beetles found in North America will thrive under climate change. Some could decline. And that could have far-reaching implications for agriculture, forestry, and conservation.

This year alone, seven whales and 22 dolphins have died along the New Jersey coast, and New York has had its fair share with a death toll of three large whales and seven dolphins. If fatalities continue at the current rate, 2023 will be a record-breaking year.
